Celebrate Panda Cares Day with Panda Express on August 8 and help El Paso Children’s Hospital
El Paso Children’s Hospital is excited to celebrate Panda Cares Day on August 8. Why? Because Panda Express is hosting a one-day virtual fundraiser for area kids treated at El Paso Children’s Hospital. When a guest places an order on the Panda Express mobile app or website using the promo code “PandaCaresDay,” Panda will donate 28 percent of online sales to young patients in the El Paso, TX area.
Donations collected year round at local Panda Express locations have helped kids like Weston Brown.
Weston’s favorite color is yellow–the color of happiness and optimism. When he was three years old, doctors at El Paso Children’s Hospital diagnosed a large mass in his abdomen as an extremely rare form of cancer. Weston’s family braced for the journey ahead.
The team of specialists carefully laid out a plan for surgery and treatment. The Child Life staff made Weston’s parents and nine-year-old brother feel at home with activities and, of course, yellow toys!
Weston’s family powered through each step of treatment, and today, he is recovering! His parents are happy and optimistic about Weston’s future, knowing they have the full support of the blue, the red, and especially, the yellow!
Additionally, El Paso Children’s Hospital is excited to recognize Panda for the $164,346.33 in donations in 2019 made that will continue to help in our community and transform how we meet the most urgent needs, save more lives and protect our collective future.
